The Tiber River creates a lake which water travels around the hills, creating a rare and gorgeous scenes. This is Corbara Lake, between Orvieto and Todi, located where the pure essence of Umbria can be found: the charm of the hills and the dark mystery of the forests and tufaceous rocks.
Set on the hills overlooking the lake in the River Tiber Natural Park, and near
the Alviano Nature Reserve, the Barberani Farm Holiday Centre offers
independent apartments in the restored old stone farmhouses of the Vallesanta
Estates, enjoying a hillside site of 80 hectares in the Orvieto Classico DOC
wine-producing region (50 hectares of which dedicated to vineyards).
The production of quality wines - taking the names of the various Vineyards
where the grapes are grown (Calcaia, Castagnolo, Selvaso, Pomaio, Polvento,
Pulicchio, Polago, Foresco - which equally give their names to the apartments
themselves) - is the main activity of the Estate, which grows its own, noble and
traditional grapes.
Guests staying here in Autumn have the opportunity to observe and take part in the ancient rituals of the grape harvest and pressing, not to mention in November the harvesting of olives and pressing in traditional stone mills.
The Barberani Farm Holiday Centre is only 15 kilometres from the historic
centre of Orvieto in the heart of one of the most evocative regions in the world,
within easy reach of major cities of art in Umbria and Tuscany, as well as the
holy places of ancient Etruria: Todi, Assisi, Perugia, Gubbio, Spoleto, Viterbo,
Chiusi, Civita di Bagnoregio and Bolsena.
The Barberani Farm Holiday Centre offers residential apartments set in
faithfully restored, ancient Umbrian stone farmhouses, enjoying a peaceful and
picturesque position in direct contact with Nature within the huge estate.
Each apartment retains its original character while offering different structures
and spatial areas in full keeping with the fascinating yet sombre rural
architecture.
 
The apartments, designed to cater for 2-3-4 or 5 guests (with facilities for the
handicapped), all have independent entrances, air conditioning and heating,
kitchen area with refrigerator and complete accessories, lounge with television,
bedroom and bathroom with shower.
 
In the immediate vicinity of the farmhouses, guests at the Farm Holiday Centre
can enjoy a Club on the shores of Lake Corbara offering a swimming pool,
tennis court, five-a-side football, as well as activities such as angling and
canoeing. There is also a hall for receptions, meetings and seminars, as well as a
centre for tasting wines, grappas and extra virgin olive oils.
