"G R A P P A"
from Orvieto Classico "Castagnolo"
from Orvieto Classico "Calcaia" Muffa Nobile Riserva

POMACE: from selected Orvieto Classico grapes grown in our “Castagnolo” and “Calcaia” Muffa Nobile vineyards on our Vallesanta estate.

DISTILLATION: done with traditional methods using a “charente” steam still with low-degree columns and a discontinuous system to remove impurities.

AGING: “Calcaia” Grappa only, eighteen months in 225-liter French wood barrels used previously for our “Calcaia” Muffa Nobile Orvieto Classico wine.

DISTILLER: Gioacchino Nannoni's distillery in Paganico (Grosseto).

ALCOHOL CONTENT: 42% by volume - BOTTLE: 50 cl

COLOR: Orvieto Classico “Castagnolo” Grappa is white, whereas the Orvieto Classico “Calcaia” Grappa has an intense straw-yellow color.

BOUQUET: Orvieto Classico “Castagnolo” Grappa has a fresh, delicate but highly pronounced bouquet and Orvieto Classico “Calcaia” Grappa has a round, fragrant and intense nose.

TASTE: Orvieto Classico “Castagnolo” Grappa is dry but elegant and pleasant, revealing excellent breeding. The Orvieto Classico “Calcaia” Grappa is smooth, round and harmoniously elegant.




EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL

OLIVE GROVES: 5 hectares with specialized cultivation and various other plant varieties, according to traditional methods.

ALTITUDE: from 250 to 320 meters above sea level.

BLEND: “Frantoio”, “Leccino” and “Moraiolo” varieties in equal proportions.

HARVEST: olives are hand-picked by stripping. The olives are harvested towards the middle of November when the olives turn “whitish” as they start to change color from green to black.

OIL EXTRACTION: preliminary cold-pressing, using traditional stone mills.

COLOR: pale opaque green.

AROMA: mild but with a distinct olive smell and mildly grassy overtones.

FLAVOR: intensely fruity but delicate and well-balanced, with a bitter-sweet almond aftertaste.

PRODUCTION: about N. 5.000 bottles of lt. 0,750 - 0,500 - 0,250.
